Dress to Express

Children's Mental Health Week

From the 1st - 7th February it was Children's Mental Health Week. This was an opportunity to shine a spotlight on and raise awareness for children and young people's mental health. Cameron Vale School was very excited to be taking part in raising awareness and funding for Place 2 Be charity.

Place 2 Be is a fantastic children's mental health charity. They work to ensure that no child has to face mental health problems alone by providing school-based mental health support in schools throughout the UK. As a charity, they rely on the generosity and support of the community to give children and young people the support they need, when they need it the most.

As a part of Cameron Vale's support for Mentalchild dressed up Health Week, the school held a 'Dress to Express' day. The idea was simple, to encourage the children to use colour to express themselves by wearing an outfit of their choice for remote learning on Friday 5th February and donate on the Cameron Vale Just Giving Page.

Lots of children and the staff too, all joined in and came to the remote learning lessons on Friday. Dressed in a wonderful array of outfits with multiple colours, to fancy dress and party outfits all in the aid of a great cause!

The school raised a total of £315 for Place 2 Be Charity.
