Admissions Procedure

Registration

Subject to places being available, children are welcome to join The Chelsea Nursery/Cameron Vale School throughout the year.

Children enter The Chelsea Nursery at the age of two or three. Pupils join Cameron Vale Pre-Prep/Reception Class in September following their fourth birthday. Children automatically transfer to the Prep School in the September following their seventh birthday, remaining at Cameron Vale until the end of Class 6 (aged eleven).

Attendance in The Chelsea Nursery is flexible from three sessions (mornings or afternoons) per week through to five full days from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm (or 7.30 am to 6 pm extended hours) per week. Most children start with three to five sessions and gradually increase their attendance as they progress through the Nursery classes.

The transition to the Reception class commences during the Spring Term to ensure that each child is fully prepared for their move to the Pre-Prep School in the Autumn. However, we welcome admissions into Reception from pupils from other Nurseries, subject to places being available.

Entry to the Nursery is not selective so places are awarded according to availability. We operate a registration process and advise all parents hoping to secure a place at The Chelsea Nursery/Cameron Vale to register their child as early as possible, preferably at birth. There is a registration fee of £150 and refundable deposit of £5,500.

All children wishing to join Cameron Vale are invited to attend a Taster Day with the year group they would join where they are observed at work and play. During their visit, they meet key staff members and complete an informal assessment with the class teacher. We always look at each child as an individual and take into consideration their wider skills and attributes when a decision is made to offer a place. Ultimately what is most important is that children are happy and fulfilled during their time at our school.

We do not discriminate against any child and allow for diversity and inclusion within our setting. We will, however, carry out an additional review of any individual circumstances and requirements if necessary, and assess our ability at the school to meet those needs. If we are able to meet those needs by making reasonable adjustments we will do so.
