The Admissions Process
| Step 1 |
Book a visit to Cameron Vale We believe that a personal visit to Cameron Vale is invaluable. During your visit you will have the opportunity to experience, first-hand, what makes life at Cameron Vale so special and meet our teachers and children.
We have open days throughout the year that give you the opportunity to visit the school in person and meet with our Head, Alison and Deputy Head, Chloe. If you are unable to make our open days you can also arrange an individual tour at a time that suits you.
|
| Step 2 |
Your application If following your visit to Cameron Vale you would like to register your child at the school, we request that you complete a registration form and return it along with a non-refundable fee of £200. On receipt of the registration form for your child, together with the registration fee, your child’s name will be placed on the waiting list for the term in which they expect to join the school.
|
| Step 3 |
Attend a taster day Children joining the school in Years 1 to 6, will be invited to spend a day with the class they are hoping to join. We are seeking potential, rather than prior attainment and are looking for children with an enthusiasm for learning, who will benefit from our broad curriculum and enjoy contributing to all areas of school life. We want to find out as much as we can about your child, whilst there may be some emphasis on testing, taster days are designed to ensure that your child will be happy in our learning environment. |
| Step 4 |
Offer and acceptance Once your child is offered a place to join us, you will need to complete an acceptance form as well as provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate. We also require a deposit which will be returned when your child leaves Cameron Vale. You can view a full breakdown of our fees below.
|
| Step 5 |
Your child's first day at Cameron Vale From the moment your child joins us, we put them at the very heart of everything that we do. What makes a child’s experience so special, is our welcoming family atmosphere, which provides a natural avenue to allowing children to build strong and trusting relationships with their peers and teachers alike. |
Inclusion
The Head of Learning Enrichment works alongside, and supports, all teachers and staff in the school to ensure pupils are working at an appropriate level, support or stretch, and to provide access to the curriculum for those with mild specific needs.
The staff work with children in lessons and during specific intervention times, to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need in school. We can co-ordinate support from visiting and external therapists, for example, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
However, we are not a school designed to support children with anything other than mild needs and we very much encourage that a school must be the right place for each child.
As part of the admissions process, applicants must supply the school with all reports regarding their child relevant to a learning or physical need. If you have applied for a place for your child and we cannot meet their needs, we will not be able to offer a place.
Please see our admissions policy for further detail.
